Equippers Central Coast Church
The main goal of this project was to transform an outdated commercial building into what is now called home for Equippers Church here on the Central Coast of California. We spent intentional time space planning the mass amount of square footage we were presented with, from outlining the function of each space, to designing with the user of each space in mind. Collaborating with Pastor John S., we were able to get to the heart of the project that would inspire each step moving forward in the design process - Spirit-filled spaces facilitating the move of God.
The Program of the design consisted of fourteen different areas that were important to the making of Equippers' home. We prepared designs for exterior accents that needed updating, the church's welcome center and lobby, a parent's lounge and mother's room, kids' spaces like The Warehouse, offices, and places of worship. It was crucial that there was a cohesion between each part of this building. We achieved this by introducing a color palette and coordinating materials that leaned on the emphasis for spaces that would not distract people from meeting with God, for all ages and backgrounds.
The design was presented in three-dimensional modeling and realistic rendering to better understand the feeling conveyed in each space as well as visualize the final design decisions on the project. Provided was a finish schedule and interrelated visual document to see every selection and finish necessary to make the design come to life. We are very happy with the outcome of this project and grateful to be a part of what God is doing through Equippers Church.
“We recently purchased 22,000 square feet of mixed-use space and our best decision in the process was hiring Carlee. She used her expertise to create an incredible environment in each of our unique spaces. Carlee went above and beyond and surpassed our expectation!"
